We offer a very successful and comprehensive range of programs designed to support the transition of prep students from their home/preschool environment to school.
Visits by pre-schoolers to school to familiarise the children with classrooms and outdoor facilities are facilitated. Foundation information sessions are offered to interested families in Term 2 and local secondary colleges offer similar sessions for Year 6 students and families during the year.
Pre-schoolers visit for the morning as new "Foundation students" and engage in a range of activities with Foundation teachers in Term 4.
Multi-age days occur throughout the year. This provides our students with the opportunity to work with students from other year levels and interact with different teachers.
Contact the school at the commencement of Term 4 for relevant transition dates.
Year 5 and 6 students have opportunities to visit neighbouring Sale College throughout the year and Year 6 students have days when they meet and work with Year 6 students from other schools in the district. Visitations from current Sale College Year 7 students to pass on relevant information and answer students’ questions occurs during Term 3.
Year 6s have an orientation day in December at their secondary school of choice. Information sessions for Year 6 students and families at local secondary colleges are offered during the year.
